Built on Data Standards:
The data model on which the e-Permit system is built was developed using the Core Reference Model (CRM) and XML schema design guidelines. This has resulted in a system that can be easily integrated with State databases and National exchange network. Use of the CRM, which identifies common reusable XML schema components, ensures that applicants only need to fill in the same information (such as contact or facility info) once. The e-Permit system can also be integrated with the State's Enterprise Information System if available. Permit Application Fee Management:
The e-Permit system provides all of the fee payment capabilities required of an online permit application system. This includes:
- Electronic Payment (credit card, e-checking)
- Check/Money Order payment
- Ability to pay additional fees after the application is submitted
- Payment refunds
- Payment dispute handling
- Interfacing with State's Account Receivable System

The e-Permit system has been certified to integrate with the GovConnect credit card payment system commonly used by government agencies.

The e-Permit system for Municipality allows the
municipality's citizens, businesses, and contractors to apply
for the desired permits and submit payments on line. This vital
public online service will make it easier, more reliable and
traceable for the municipality's citizens and businesses to do
business with the municipality. It also provides improved
enterprise collaboration opportunities for cross department

Construction permits
The construction permit package allows the residents or businesses to obtain the Certificate
Occupancy (CO) for new construction, addition or alteration. The typical construction permit life-cycle
involves iterative processes of application submissions, staff's reviews, inspections, administrative
approvals and the final issuance of certificates.

configurable Construction Permit "pre-requisites" management sub-system for any variations of
pre-Construction Permit requirements before entering the defined construction permit life-cycle
(such as Zoning, Planning, Site Improvement Permit etc.).
Online services for constuction permit package
Please note that not all Construction Permits will need to go through the entire construction permit
package. For some simple home improvements related permits (such as roofing, siding, fence, etc.)
residents may only need to apply for "Building sub code" permit or home improvement permit.
For mechanical improvements (such as water heater, Oil piping, boiler, furnace, etc.), contractors
or home owners may only need to apply for "Mechanical sub code" permit.
In addition, the e-Permit system also provides many online services
for non-permitting related activities to the residents and local business.
e-Services
Citizens and business owner can make requests, complaints and
suggestion online and all request records will be stored in the
system and the status can be tracked at any time. The management
will be alerted by automated email messages for any incoming
requests (or unhandled requests exceeding pre-defined thresholds);
reports can be printed out to demonstrate the efforts made by
municipal staff to satisfy residents and businesses' requests.
In addition, municipality, school, police... can also make
public announcement on the bulletin board, residents or
businesses can receive near real time information automatically
through the e-Permit RSS services.
Residents and business owners can also advertise through
Directory Assistance and eLinks will allow management to
