Ohio EPA Success Story - Computer Technologies Help Environmental Compliance

The Ohio EPA (OEPA) saves time, resources and improves regulatory compliance for its NPDES Discharge Monitoring Reporting (DMR) program by implementing a web-based E2 system from enfoTech.

E2 went into production on October 21, 2007. Within 11 months, OEPA achieved an 83% participation rate from all DMR permittees. As of September 2008, 2612 permittees submit their DMR data online via E2 and the data are directly transferred to OEPA's central database. Read more...

 

Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago (MWRDGC), one of the world's largest wastewater treatment authorities, selected iPACS for its central environmental data system for industrial waste control and pretreatment program. The MWRDGC will achieve a paperless system where inspection and sampling data are electronically captured in the field, sewer users submit and pay user charges online, and all environmental compliance information is managed in a central iPACS system.

 

Shaanxi Province EPA, China signed a Hazardous Waste Information Management (eWastePro) Contract with enfoTech.

The System, named eWastePro, will seamlessly combine leading IT technologies with the China environmental regulatory requirements to provide the Shaanxi Hazardous Waste Division with a state-of-the-art business solution and artificial intelligence features to enhance their Waste Management and Tracking capabilities. The System will include four major modules: Facility & Permit, Manifest, Environmental Performance Assessment, and Real-time manifest tracking using GIS. The entire project will allow the Shaanxi EPA to achieve electronic tracking of hazardous waste from the point of generation to its final destruction - "Cradle to Grave" - representing a strong commitment from the Shaanxi EPA in the environmental protection program.

China 's SEPA Delegation visited enfoTech on 11/21/2007. China 's State Environmental Protection Administration (SEPA) Vice Director-General Professor Fuchun Xu led a group of information center officials from SEPA, China 's provinces and municipalities to visit enfoTech. The Delegation and enfoTech held a technical meeting to discuss advanced IT applications on point source pollution control, watershed management, regional air quality management, and total maximum daily loading (TMDL).

New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection has won an ECOS Innovations Award for their Air Monitoring Data Exchange Project. enfoTech worked with New Jersey, New York and Delaware's environmental agencies and the EPA to successfully complete this air quality data exchange project.

The Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation's Water Information Management team has received an Honorable Mention for the Governor's Denali Peak Performance Awards. The Denali award recognizes and rewards individuals and teams for excellence in service to the State of Alaska's Executive Branch and citizens of Alaska. Alaska 's DEC uses NPDES Management System (NMS) and E2 software programs.

New Jersey Bureau of Safe Drinking Water has received the "Commitment to Excellence" award for development of the E2 Electronic Drinking Water Reporting (eDWR) System, which accepts electronic submissions of drinking water data from laboratories and water systems, demonstrating a strong effort to improve the timeliness of data submittals and enhance data quality.
